Akari is a membership-based neighborhood sauna house inspired by Japanese onsen and sento traditions, with a studio at 60 Orchard St on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Each studio has two communal dry heat saunas, a cold shower and a cold pool, along with lockers, showers and changing rooms. Towels and slippers are available on site, and guests bring their own bathing suit. Facilities are not separated by gender, and visitors must be 18 or older.
